Joining Camaraderous allows me to meet driven and inspiring individuals, grow my network, get feedback on ideas, and have a good time! Getting to know founders and innovators in this informal setting also allows me to grasp the current trends in the startup ecosystem from an angle that I don't have in more professional and formal settings.

Why we play

Aaron

Senior Director, Product

I come every week to Camaraderous to unwind from an otherwise hectic week of work and to relax and meet up with like-minded people who care about getting better at their craft but are inherently collaborative.

It has also been a way to reconnect with friends who I haven’t been able to see in months and sometimes years!

There is an instant sense of camaraderie and the team has done a great job curating the experience to happen on time and with high attendance. The only reason I missed one week was to prepare a board deck 🤣

Fried

Founder

This is something I'm excited to be part of and looking forward to when the week is too serious.

Digital natives live in front of the screen all day and need a way to channel new energy.

Bringing strangers together and 'playing' as a team is a very exciting new way to strengthen sportsmanship, collaboration, leadership and teamwork.

This is perhaps the next big thing for training your management team and supervisors.

Daniel

CEO

It’s an opportunity to meet and get to know smart people from all over the world.

Cassidy

Principal Product Manager

I love being able to join a group of like-minded adult mature gamers who have the same passion for games that I do, particularly Dota at this time.

Wednesdays have become a highlight of my week and Camaraderous has helped create new social connections for me that I may not otherwise have had the opportunity to form.

Often I read about new concepts after a session because another player has enthusiastically introduced the idea to me.

I'm always looking forward to the sessions because the setting makes it very easy to be confident and forward, and it boosts my motivation to create and build!

Peregrine

Investor

I signed up because founders are generally people I want to be friends with: they're ambitious, driven, and sociable. They're typically good at working with other people, and very smart, so it's fun to get to know new founders and socialize with them.

I grew up playing video games, so this gives me a kick of that pure childhood joy. I've stuck with the group because it's always fun and the people are great.

Kevin

Founder

I didn't have an online gaming group and Camaraderous has let me get together with a good group of people to play games that I've always wanted to play, but never really found anyone to play with (e.g., Starcraft 2).

Its advantages over Discord is I get grouped with people with similar interests versus preteens you might find online.

Mychilo

Founder

The Internet, we are told, enables us to meet people with similar interests, facilitating social contact and interaction. Yet, this is something that I had never experienced myself, in any sort of real, meaningful sense, until I logged on to Camaraderous for the first time.

As a software developer and entrepreneur, with an undergraduate degree in philosophy, I don’t meet a lot of people with similar interests and experiences. But on Camaraderous, I have met a number of individuals that I have a lot in common with and resonate with, as illustrated by the following anecdote:
One of my newfound friends on Camaraderous described us [software engineers] as artists. It was gratifying to find someone who viewed themselves in the same way that I did.

Even though I need to get up at 5:45 to join the weekly meeting, it is worth it to me.

Wilson

Sales Enablement Manager

When I have the time to, it's nice to join and connect with old coworkers who I typically wouldn't chat with.

People always talk about doing things outside of work; this is a nice, planned way to connect and share ideas with likeminded people.

Happy hours are played out, so it's nice to come to a community where we can all bond over a common interest when time permits.
